Corporate Social Responsibility

Luca Crippa at Bocconi during the CSR and Social Innovation Exhibition

“To be a socially responsible enterprise means to think first of all about the well-being of people.” This was the meaning of the message that Luca Crippa, CEO and Managing Director of IBSA Italy, delivered at the CSR and Social Innovation Exhibition held at Bocconi University. Speaking to the audience attending the round table “Attention to people, innovation, and health,” moderated by Prof. Elio Borgonovi, President of CERGAS, Mr. Crippa explained that this concept “at an industrial level translates into the constant improvement of already existing active ingredients, while at a social level it consists in promoting projects such as Parole Fertili or joining initiatives such as the Banco Farmaceutico.”

In short, “doing good things” and among these is also aligning ourselves with the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 AGENDA, or SDGs. As Crippa said, “Growing sustainably allows us to contribute to the well-being of the communities in which we operate. The quality of life of our patients and the well-being of our staff are the cornerstone of our culture. IBSA fulfils this task by offering effective and affordable therapies to patients.” The CEO of IBSA Italy also added that “since 2015 we are committed to quantitatively assessing, reducing and communicating the environmental impact of our operations. Finally, we are extremely attentive to Gender Equality and Women Empowerment: in 2018, women at the head of departments or in the management staff accounted for 47% of managerial staff,” concluded Mr. Crippa.
