IBSA SIDE BY SIDE WITH THE BANCO FARMACEUTICO (DRUG BANK) FOR THE PRESENTATION OF THE 2019 ‘DONATE TO CURE - HEALTH POVERTY AND DRUG DONATION’ REPORT, PRESENTED TODAY IN MILAN.
The Report, which this year is enriched by the presence of an entire section on children’s health and the interventions of Mariella Enoc (Director of the Children’s Hospital Bambino Gesù), Maria Grazia Giuffrida (Chair of the Istituto degli Innocenti) and Gian Carlo Blangiardo (Chair of Istat), represents a particularly useful analytical tool to understand and compare phenomena linked to the difficulty in accessing care in Italy.
The support offered by IBSA to Banco Farmaceutico and the team that worked on the Report is consistent with the corporate social responsibility journey undertaken by the company since its inception. IBSA deeply believes in human beings and in their potential, and is committed to putting the individual at the centre of all its actions, relationships and projects. IBSA’s collaboration with the Banco Farmaceutico drug bank began in 2013. In 6 years, IBSA Italia has donated a total of 247,000 drug packs. In 2018, 6,000 of these packs were given to people living in poverty in foreign operating theatres by the Italian Armed Forces. Thanks to that contribution, the drug bank was able to help 100 entities offering free social and health care to people in need. This collaboration has grown year on year, extending to other activities, including the drafting of the Health Poverty Report since 2016. In 2020, IBSA will be the main partner of the Drug Collection Day that will actually last a full week this time, from 4 to 10 February 2020.
