IBSA on the front line alongside doctors at the SIU and IIEM digital conferences15 October 2020
There has been a great deal of interest in IBSA’s virtual stand at the 93rd national conference of the SIU – Società Italiana Urologia (Italian Society of Urology) – which took place in ‘hybrid mode’ during the weekend of 17 and 18 October 2020. The formula adopted due to COVID-19 restrictions offered participants two options: in-person attendance for a limited number of participants and online for everyone else.
Alongside that event, IBSA also took part in the 2020 edition of the IIEM – Incontri italiani di Endocrinologia e Metabolismo (Italian Endocrinology and Metabolism Meetings) – an important opportunity to update all Italian endocrinologists on current topics of particular interest. These include: neuroendocrinology and pituitary conditions, neuroendocrine tumours, thyroid diseases, andrology and gynaecological endocrinology, calcium and phosphate metabolic disorders, adrenal disorders, diabetes, obesity, as well as an update on endocrinology and metabolic diseases in COVID-19 times.
The success of the two projects, both of which were of a very high level, shows the special resilience of the medical and pharmaceutical industry. At a critical time in which the world is faced with a pandemic that is imposing major restrictions on people’s mobility, scientific societies are retaining their propensity for discussion and debate, accelerating digitalisation to meet members’ requirement for innovation and the latest information.
“Playing an active part in this new goal and supporting many doctors at this difficult time of transition fills us with pride and spurs us on each and every day to do our utmost to offer our contribution to scientific and technological progress and to improving people’s quality of life,” says Giuseppe Celiberti, Head of the Commercial Department.
